Did you tell him known fragments of your passphrase or did he crack it completely from scratch?

i told him my passphrase (or what it was supposed to be) and he takes it from there !
So he is not cracking the encryption or anything like that,
but still, i tried and tried with endless different versions
and he has some kind of program worked out that automates the whole "trying" process !!
